NFL Notes: Draft, Browns, Buccaneers, Falcons, & Raiders

Draft

  • Miami WR Phillip Dorsett mentioned that he interviewed with the Chiefs. (Terez Paylor)
  • New Redskins GM Scot McCloughan said they’ve interviewed “tons” of prospects at the Shrine Game and Senior Bowl. (Zac Boyer)
  • McCloughan stressed that they play to add playmakers at all positions.

My belief is the core of the team, you start this year in the draft,” said McCloughan, per Boyer.

Browns

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said that they have no idea who will be the team’s starting quarterback in 2015.

We’re going to continue to work really hard to find that quarterback who can make us a championship team,” Haslam said, per Nate Ulrich.

Buccaneers

  • According to Greg Auman, new Bucs OC Dirk Koetter has Andrew Weidinger as their new offensive quality control coach.
  • Weidinger follows Koetter to Tampa Bay from the Atlanta.

Falcons

  • Vaughn McClure wouldn’t be surprised to see TEs coach Wade Harman remain with the Falcons, even with a head-coaching change.

Raiders

  • Dianna Marie Russini reports that more candidates are set to interview with the Raiders this weekend.
