NFL Notes: Draft, Browns, Giants, & Ravens

Draft

  • Virginia DE/LB Eli Harold met with the Browns and Patriots on the first night of the combine. (Dane Brugler)
  • Washington DT Danny Shelton has met with the Ravens, Bears, Colts, Giants, Saints and “several others” so far during the combine. (Aaron Wilson)
  • According to Tony Pauline of Draft Insider, UCLA QB Brett Hundley has impressed teams during the interview process, appearing “as a leader“.

Browns

  • According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns would have considered taking UCLA’s Brett Hundley in top-10 last year.
  • Matt Miller heard that the Browns were “actively petitioning” Hundley to enter the draft last year.

Giants

Giants GM Jerry Reese mentioned that they could be looking for a fast, home-run hitting running back who could compliment Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams.

“We’ve got some big bangers, and David was a fast, quick guy who could catch the ball out of the backfield,” Reese said, via Dan Graziano of ESPN. “You lose a dynamic-type player, it stings a little bit. But it’s football, and we’ll try and replace that position.”

  • Reese said they plan to assess CB Prince Amukamara‘s health before discussing a contract extension.

Ravens

  • Miami (Ohio) CB Quentin Rollins had a formal meeting with the Ravens on Saturday. (Aaron Wilson)
