NFL Notes: Draft, Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets, & Packers

Draft

  • According to Matt Miller, three NFL teams have told him that they have a higher draft grade on Miami QB Brad Kaaya than Clemson QB Deshaun Watson.

Cardinals

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Adam Gase said it was a bad decision to use a committee approach with four running backs and that they will stick with one or two players moving forward.

Going forward, hopefully we can target a couple of guys a game or one guy a game and let that guy get in the flow of it,” said Gase, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Gase went on to say the team is considering making a lineup change at free safety.

We’ll see how practice goes,” Gase said. “Every week, we go in and there are certain positions that we do that with. Sometimes it goes noticed, sometimes it goes unnoticed. Mike has been playing well. We felt like he could help us back there, and part of the reason is Bobby (McCain) has been playing well (in the nickel/slot position).”

Jets

  • Jets WR Eric Decker (torn rotator cuff) said he feels “better this week than last week,” but is not sure if he will play in Week 5. (Rich Cimini)
  • Decker also mentioned that he has not ruled out surgery following this season, saying: “Maybe after the season, we re-evaluate what it looks like structurally and go from there.”
