NFL Notes: Draft, Chargers, Raiders, Cowboys & Rams

Draft

  • Adam Caplan reports that UNC QB Mitch Trubisky, as of last night, is still undecided about foregoing his Senior season and entering the 2017 draft. Trubisky has been a popular name in recent months and could end up being a first-round pick.
  • Bob McGinn reported earlier this morning Badgers LT Ryan Ramczyk will have arthroscopic surgery to fix torn labrum in his hip after the team’s upcoming bowl game and could miss four months. Ramczyk is in the discussion to be the best offensive tackle prospect in next year’s draft.

Chargers & Raiders

Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports that Raiders owner Mark Davis and Chargers owner Dean Spanos appeared to have an “animated conversation” at midfield prior to their Week 15 matchup in San Diego.

Both teams are trying to sort out their future and where they’ll be playing in the coming years and had previously discussed a joint stadium in Carson before the Rams secured the right to relocate to Los Angeles.

  • NFL may stall Raiders’ plans to move to Las Vegas and explore options in the Bay Area. (NFLTR)

Cowboys

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys OC Scott Linehan is considered a “prime” head-coaching candidate, who will get interviews with teams after this season.

Rams

Former Rams HC Jeff Fisher offered an interesting comment on Sunday in an interview with FOX.

Successful teams are tight-knit and they work together and they stay quiet and they don’t leak things,” Fisher said.

It’s true that the Rams strangely leaked information about his contract that was signed during the offseason a few weeks before they fired him and other report cited drama within the organization.

However, Fisher made some public comments about issues with the team’s personnel, which seemed like a shot at GM Les Snead. It’s worth noting that Fisher had control in personnel issues and also had more premium picks to work with than any other head coach taking over a team after they traded the rights to Robert Griffin III to the Redskins.

Fisher made it clear that he plans to get back into coaching in the NFL at some point.
