NFL Notes: Draft, Charles Tillman, Broncos, & Falcons

Draft

  • Gil Brandt of NFL Media reports that Indiana RB Telvin Coleman won’t work out at the combine this week, due to his foot being in a boot following offseason surgery.
  • Coleman is, however, expected to work out at Indiana’s Pro Day on April 15.

Charles Tillman

Bears free agent CB Charles Tillman says that he wants to continue his playing career in the hope of winning a Super Bowl.

“I love the game. I’m not going to stop ’til I’m dead,” Tillman told USA Today. “Obviously, I can’t play until I’m like 50 or 60. But I just want to keep going. I’m feeling good. I just have unfinished business. I want a championship. I think that’s my main reason [to keep playing]: I’m hungry for a championship.

Broncos

  • Broncos TE Jacob Tamme tells Alex Marvez that he expects to reach the open market this offseason, but would like to be back with in Denver.
  • Tamme added that QB Peyton Manning hasn’t said if he plans to be back in 2015.

Falcons

Falcons owner Arthur Blank didn’t rule out the possibility of adding an elite pass-rusher this offseason.

“I think we’ve always been willing to invest whatever to get the best players we can and obviously the best coaching staff to coach those players,” Blank said, via Vaughn McClure. “So my answer would be ‘Yes.”

McClure writes that signing a player such as Justin HoustonJason Pierre-Paul or Greg Hardy seems unlikely, but not impossible.

McClure believes Ravens OLB Pernell McPhee could be a more realistic option. He also suggests Buccaneers DE Adrian Clayborn and Seahawks DE O’Brien Schofield as reasonably priced options for the Falcons.
