NFL Notes: Draft, Colts, Raiders, Texans

Draft

  • According to Tony Pauline, San Jose State LB Frank Ginda has not made a final decision about entering the 2018 NFL Draft and has yet to sign with an agent. Pauline says that Ginda is still “exploring his options“, despite recent reports that claimed he was declaring to enter.
  • Peter Ariz of CanesInSight.com reports that Miami CB Michael Jackson is “leaning towards” declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft.
  • An NFL executive told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that he does not think Jackson would get drafted.

Colts

  • Colts HC Chuck Pagano told reporters that WR Donte Moncrief is “day-to-day” and his availability for Sunday is definitely up in the air. Zak Keefer mentions that Moncrief had a boot on his right ankle in the locker room today.
  • Colts DL Henry Anderson said that while he didn’t think a throat injury would cost him the rest of the season, doctors told him if his larynx got hit again, it could collapse his airway. (Zak Keefer)

Raiders

  • According to Michael Gehlken, Raiders WR Amari Cooper has cleared the league’s concussion protocol but missed Wednesday’s practice due to an ankle injury.

Texans

Texans ILB Brian Cushing told reporters on Wednesday that he takes full responsibility for the 10-game suspension he served this year.

I should have communicated with the league better about it,” Cushing said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “I take full responsibility for it. The encouraging thing is there are other guys in the league that are allowed to take this. … I hope they understand I had an issue I was trying to better myself with. As I’ve gotten older, there’s been a lot of things I’ve been worrisome about. Especially with a lot of the older players that have played and retired and the situations they’ve been in.

  • Texans HC Bill O’Brien told reporters on Wednesday that he’s hopeful that WR Will Fuller can play in Week 14. (Aaron Wilson)
  • Regarding Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz‘s (concussion) future with the team, O’Brien said that he expects to have the tight end back next season: “So, we’ll wait to see really when he starts feeling better, we’ll sit down and talk about him and talk about what he’s thinking about things. But, C.J.’s been a really, really top-notch football player for us. Great guy to have around and we expect to have him in the future, no doubt about it.” (Aaron Wilson)
