  • Falcons LT Jake Matthews sustained a Lisfranc injury during Week 17’s game, but should be fine for the start of training camp. (Vaughn McClure)

  • Giants will interview Bills DL coach Pepper Johnson for their vacant defensive coordinator position “early” on this week. (Adam Schefter)
  • Ian Rapoport confirms that the Giants will also interview Ravens DBs coach Steve Spagnuolo for the job as well.

Jay Glazer reports that Jets RB Chris Johnson‘ was pulled over after he rolled through a stop sign.

Upon searching the car, the police officer found a firearm under a book bag that located beneath his seat. It should have been locked up, so Johnson received a misdemeanor for the incident.

  • QB Ben Roethlisberger will not appear in this year’s Pro Bowl as a “precaution” to avoid aggravating a lingering knee issue.

Ben was instructed by team doctors to avoid strenuous activity due to inflammation in his knee, thus he will not play in the Pro Bowl,” agent Ryan Tollner said, via Scott Brown. “His knee will not require surgery and he looks forward to an otherwise healthy offseason to improve with his teammates.”
