NFL Notes: Eagles, Jaguars, Patriots, Titans, & Vikings

Eagles

  • The Philadelphia Eagles announced the hiring of former Bears executive Dwayne Joseph as director of pro personnel on Wednesday.
  • According to Adam Caplan, the Bears tried hard to keep Joseph, but he elected to take a better opportunity with the Eagles.

Jaguars

  • Jaguars signed fourth-round pick S James Sample to a four-year contract.

Patriots

According to Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report, has spoken to multiple sources who mentioned that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is “strongly considering” taking legal action against the NFL following the punishment handed down for their role in DeflateGate.

However, the Cole’s sources added that they’re trying to discourage Kraft from going this route because they believe it will ultimately be a “fruitless endevour” for the Patriots.

Previous owners haven’t had much success winning cases against the league in the past, so it’s hard to imagine things being any different for New England.

Titans

  • Titans signed seventh-round WR Tre McBride, sixth-round C Andy Gallik, and fourth-round DL Angelo Blackson to four-year contracts on Wednesday.

Vikings

Vikings OL Austin Wentworth is retiring from the NFL due to tissue clots in his legs.

I came home and my legs went completely numb,’’ Wentworth said in a phone interview with Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press on Wednesday. “It was all within 15 minutes. My legs starting tingling and went completely numb and I couldn’t walk.’’
