NFL Notes: Eugene Monroe, Dolphins, Giants, & Packers

Eugene Monroe

  • Paul Schwartz reports that recently released LT Eugene Monroe to find new team.
  • Schwartz’s source said of his plans: “At this point we’re just evaluating teams, one step at a time.

Dolphins

  • Barry Jackson points out that the Dolphins have had Dallas Thomas lining up at left guard ahead of first-round pick Laremy Tunsil. However, Jackson mentions that it’s difficult to fathom Thomas actually starting ahead of Tunsil.
  • Thomas has also received some snaps at right guard, but Billy Turner has received the majority of the first-team reps.

Giants

  • While the Giants are likely to have interest in signing free agent LT Eugene Monroe, Dan Graziano mentions that there are likely to be other teams in the mix as well.
  • Even if the Giants sign Monroe, Graziano considers Erick Flowers the team’s left tackle of the future.
  • Kimberly Jones reports that Giants third-round pick Darian Thompson is poised to start at safety for New York. (Ian Rapoport)

Packers

  • The Packers worked out RB Keshaudas Spence on Wednesday. (Ryan Rodig)
