NFL Notes: Falcons, Jets, Lions, & Seahawks

Falcons

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Falcons do, in fact, have an interview scheduled with Seahawks DC Dan Quinn for tomorrow.
  • According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Atlanta is expected to wait the required two weeks to hire Quinn as their next head coach.

Jets

  • Jason La Canfora reports that the Jets are finalizing a deal with Cardinals LBs coach Mike Caldwell to their assistant head coach.
  • Interestingly enough, La Canfora adds that it sounds like the Jets hiring OC Chan Gailey “might not be a slam dunk” like many assumed.

Lions

Seahawks

  • CB Richard Sherman said after Sunday’s game that he expects to play in the Super Bowl, despite sustaining a left elbow injury.
  • Steve Wyche of NFL Media reports that X-rays came back negative on Sherman’s injured elbow.
  • S Earl Thomas expects to be available for the Super Bowl as well, after he had his shoulder popped back in socket during Sunday’s game.
