NFL Notes: Falcons, Jets, Rams, Redskins, & Titans

Falcons

  • The Falcons have “huge expectations” for rookie DL Ra’Shede Hageman who reportedly has had an impressive offseason. (Reid Ferrin)
  • Free agent acquisition DE Tyson Jackson has been “better than advertised in the offseason”and should help by creating opportunities for team’s linebackers this season. (Reid Ferrin)

Jets

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, Jets second-round pick TE Jace Amaro “looked lost” at times during the team’s minicamp.

You could probably say the same about a number of rookies, but it appears as though Amaro could require some time before he’s ready to produce in the Jets’ offense.

Cimini mentions that OC Marty Mornhinweg is likely “feed him the playbook at a gradual rate, trying not to overwhelm him.

Rams

Redskins

The Redskins have yet to sign another safety since veteran Tanard Jackson was suspended indefinitely.

John Keim of ESPN.com mentions that Washington is “intrigued” by S Akeem Davis and are “anxious to see more” from him in training camp.

Washington reportedly feels better about their group of safeties than most, so it will be interesting to see how this group holds up during the preseason.

Titans

  • Rookie RB Bishop Sankey is expected to be “the busiest back this season in terms of carries and production” despite the fact that the Titans are expected to employ a committee approach. (Jim Wyatt)
  • Dexter McCluster has been the Titans “offseason star” when it comes to the running back position. (Jim Wyatt)
  • Jackie Battle could end up securing the Titans’ fullback role in training camp. (Jim Wyatt)
