NFL Notes: Free Agent WRs, Browns, Colts, Dolphins, & Jets

Free Agent WRs

Jason Fitzgerald of OverTheCap.com takes a look at this year’s class of free agent receivers and offers projections for the top receivers including:

Browns

Dolphins

Dolphins interim HC Dan Campbell said that rookie RB Jay Ajayi (ribs) may not be activated from the short-term injured reserve list this week.

We have basically another week or over until we have to absolutely make a decision,” Campbell said, via Palm Beach Post. “But at this point we can if we would like to activate him this week. He will be eligible to do that. We don’t want to do it right now until we know for sure.

Colts

Colts QB Andrew Luck said the team’s decision to fire OC Pep Hamilton felt like a “gut punch.”

Lot of emotions, none of them good,” Luck said, via Indianapolis Star. “If you’re playing well as an offense, (this) probably doesn’t happen. If you’re winning games, it probably doesn’t happen.

Jets

Jets CB Antonio Cromartie insisted that he isn’t finished as an NFL cornerback, despite his struggles this season.

“It’s not a point of saying: ‘Oh, do I still have it?’” Cromartie said, via the  Newark Star-Ledger. “I know that. It’s just a point of going out and doing it every single week. You have to go into every single week being consistent, and I think that’s the biggest thing for me.
