Jets

Jets RB Matt Forte said he will “definitely” be recovered from his hamstring injury in time for the team’s regular season opener.

It’s taken longer than I expected just because we’re being super super cautious about it,” Forte said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “At this point, there’s really no reason to rush back out there. I got a lot of reps in the offseason. I know the offense. By watching in camp, I know it a lot more. It doesn’t take that long to get back into it. So I’m looking forward to being on the practice field soon.”

Forte said the Jets are being cautious with his return and that he would be playing already if it were up to him.

This is the most anxious I’ve had (to have) and the most patience I’ve had to have with an injury,” Forte said. “Because I’ve always looked forward to obviously getting out there as soon as possible, but at this point in time, it’s been a process throughout camp. They’ve had to hold me back personally. If it was up to me, I’d be going at it every day to try to be out there on my own terms…. A lot of times they have to protect me from myself. So I (don’t want to) overwork and have a setback.”

Ravens

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he has not received any information on the timetable of recovery for WR Breshad Perriman‘s ACL injury.

I wish I did [have an update],” Harbaugh said, via the Ravens’ official site. “We had talked about this being the time frame, right about now, mid-August, when he would be back. That was the date that I was given back in June.
