Tony Romo

Todd Archer reports that it’s looking as if Cowboys QB Tony Romo could return from the compression fracture in his back for the team’s Week 8 game against the Eagles.

“The plan for him is just to continue to progress in his rehab,” coach Jason Garrett said. “A lot of his rehab is off the field, it’s doing work for his back. It’s in the training room. It’s with the strength coaches. The next step for him is to throw the ball. He’s thrown it a little bit this week already. He’ll continue to do that.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that Romo’s MRI was encouraging and he’s been out of the “danger zone” for 2-3 weeks now.

Raiders

Steelers

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Steelers CB Justin Gilbert, who carted off the practice field on Wednesday, is not believed to have suffered a major knee injury.
