NFL Notes: IK Enemkpali, Dolphins, Eagles, Raiders

IK Enemkpali

  • According to Aaron Wilson, veteran free agent LB IK Enemkpali has been medically cleared after sustaining a torn ACL last season.
  • Wilson reports that Enemkpali received “clean bill of health” by Dr. James Andrews and is “100 percent ready to return.”

Dolphins

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Dolphins C Mike Pouncey (hip) was cleared by a specialist on Tuesday.
  • Pouncey will take a physical for the Dolphins Wednesday, but the team plans to be cautious with him moving forward.

Eagles

Eagles QB Carson Wentz will be on a “pitch count” during training camp in order to rest his arm for the regular season.

To some extent, yeah,” said Wentz, via Tim McManus of ESPN. “I’m not too worried about it; I’ve been through a number of camps before. Obviously, this is a little different. But to some extent, it’s kind of built into the practice plan in general.”

McManus mentions that Wentz had 607 passing attempts last season, while he reportedly dealt with “elbow soreness.”

Raiders

Raiders HC Jack Del Rio said he is not worried about contract situations for unsigned first-round CB Gareon Conley and second-round S Obi Melifonwu and expects them to be signed “shortly.”

These are issues that should get resolved shortly and they’ll join the team,” Del Rio said, via NFL.com. “It’s one of those situations where, years ago, … those were issues. Holdouts could last the whole camp and into the season. The structure is in place now [with the NFL’s rookie wage scale], and we expect these things to get resolved shortly and they’ll be getting their work in.

Melifonwu’s agent, Sean Stellato, said he is “very confident” they have a deal in place at some point in the near future.

I remain very confident that we’re close to a deal getting done,” Stellato said, per Michael Gehlken.
