Jared Goff

Cal QB Jared Goff said that “it would be great” if he wound up being drafted by the 49ers in the coming weeks.

“I think it would be great,” Goff said at California’s pro day, via The Oregonian. “It would be a really cool thing. Growing up a fan of them, it would be awesome.

Draft

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the 49ers are hosting some notable prospects this weekend including UCLA LB Myles Jack, Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley and cornerbacks Ohio State’s Eli Apple, Clemson’s Mackensie Alexander, Maryland’s Sean Davis and Minnesota’s Eric Murray.
  • Herbie Teope reports that the Chiefs brought in Vanderbilt G Jake Bernstein for a predraft visit the past week.
  • UCLA OL Caleb Benenoch worked out for the Texans on Saturday, and has visits lined up with the Lions, Steelers, and Titans. (Aaron Wilson)

Texans

  • The Texans worked out a number of prospects on Saturday including: Rice WR Dennis Parks, Houston OT Damien Parris, Houston DL Melvin Holland, and Midwestern State DB Marqui Christian. (Aaron Wilson)

Titans

  • Titans GM Jon Robinson confirmed that free agent acquisition Ben Jones will start at center for them in 2016, but Brian Schwenke will also be in the mix for the job.
  • Jim Wyatt mentions that it’s possible Jones could move to guard, but he appears to be the favorite at center.
