NFL Notes: Jason Pierre-Paul, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Ravens, & Steelers

Jason Pierre-Paul

Giants owner John Mara said he is “beyond the point where I’m annoyed” with franchise DE Jason Pierre-Paul.

“I’m beyond the point where I’m annoyed,” Mara told Mike Francesa in an interview on the FAN, via the New York Daily News. “I wish he’d handled it better but we’re beyond that. Do I wish he came here and had our doctors look at him? Yes.

Buccaneers

  • The Buccaneers announced that RT Demar Dotson does not need to undergo surgery to repair his sprained MCL and is expected to return around Week 2.

Chiefs

  • ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Chiefs LT Eric Fisher suffered a sprained ankle in Monday’s practice.
  • However, sources tell Werder that Fisher will likely only miss a couple weeks.

Ravens

  • Jason Cole reports that MRI results for Ravens first-round WR Breshad Perriman came back “normal.”
  • According to Cole, Perriman’s injury is just healing slow, and he’s expected to be back in a week or so.

Steelers

Steelers new DC Keith Butler mentioned that they plan to employ both 3-4 and 4-3 in looks this season.

We’re going to have both. We’re going to have the 3-4, we’re going to have the 4-3,” Butler said, via the Observer-Reporter. “We’re going to have things that we feel will give people problems. We’re going to use our personnel to get some mismatches if we can. Offenses are going to do that to us. They’re going to try to do the same thing.
