NFL Notes: Jason Pierre-Paul, Chiefs, & Patriots

Jason Pierre-Paul

Adam Schefter reports that Giants officials are in South Florida Tuesday to visit with DE Jason Pierre-Paul and see how he is faring.

My understanding is Giant officials were going to visit Jason Pierre-Paul,” Schefter said on SportsCenter. “They may already have been there, they may still be there now. But they could be or might be there right now visiting him to ascertain exactly how bad the damage to his hands actually is.”

  • A team source tells Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News that report of the Giants pulling a $60 million contract offer to Pierre-Paul is “not accurate.”
  • According to Vacchiano’s source, talks hadn’t gone far enough for the Giants to even have an offer to pull.

Chiefs

  • According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there are signs of progress between the Chiefs and franchise OLB Justin Houston towards an agreement on a long-term extension.

Patriots

  • Mike Florio writes that no one know whether anything is happening between the Patriots and franchise K Stephen Gostkowski, who has already signed the franchise tender.
