NFL Notes: Jets, Ravens, Redskins, & Titans

Jets

  • Nick Wagoner reports that the Jets have hired former Rams scout Brian Shields.

Ravens

  • Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun writes that it won’t be easy for the Ravens to lock up Pro Bowl G Marshal Yanda to a contract extension.
  • In fact, Zrebiec believes Yanda is could command in excess of $22 million guaranteed on his next contract.
  • Because of this, Zrebiec points out that it may not be feasible for Baltimore to retain both Yanda and Kelechi Osemele.

Redskins

  • A “good friend” tells Gil Brandt of NFL.com that the Redskins will be on this year’s Hard Knocks.
  • Brandt doesn’t sound overly confident about this saying: “Take that as you will.”

Titans

  • Titans OLB Jonathan Massaquoi underwent offseason shoulder surgery and isn’t expected to participate in the start of OTAs. (Paul Kuharsky)
  • Massaquoi’s procedure was reportedly a “minor cleanup.”
