NFL Notes: Jim Harbaugh, Eagles, Jets, & Raiders

Jim Harbaugh

According to Mike Freeman of the Bleacher Report, there is still “great interest” in Jim Harbaugh around the league, but interest has reportedly “decreased slightly” as teams have done more extensive homework on him.

Freeman mentions that the issue with Harbaugh “isn’t how good a coach he is; it’s his tendency to burn out people around him quickly.

Interestingly enough, Freeman adds that some teams believe there is a 50-50 chance of Harbaugh taking the head coaching job at the University of Michigan.

Eagles

“In my opinion, I thought he was the best in the draft,” Kelly said, via Jordan Raanan of NJ.com. “I think he’s showing people that.

Jets

  • DE Muhammad Wilkerson admitted that he expected to have a long-term contract extension in place by this point in the year.

“No, I’m not disappointed,” Wilkerson said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. “I mean, I thought it would be done, but it wasn’t, so, hey, it is what it is. I’m patiently waiting. If it happens, it happens.”

Raiders

  • Tim Kawakami spoke to Raiders owner Mark Davis, who mentioned that they have not conducted any interviews up to this point.
  • Oakland expect the process of finding a new head coach on Monday and Tuesday of next week when assistants from playoff teams are allotted time, according to Kawakami.
