NFL Notes: Joey Bosa, Bills, Chiefs, Colts & Packers

Joey Bosa

  • Pro Football Talk mentions that the ball has really been in the Chargers’ court since July 28, when the representatives for first-round DE Joey Bosa made their latest proposal.

Bills

Bills HC Rex Ryan tells Bart Hubbuch that his brother, Rob, has been sleeping in his office all offseason.

There’s only one coach in the entire league that sleeps in the office in the offseason, and that’s Rob,” said Rex. “That’s his life. He loves his family, but I feel for his wife. He’s crazy.

Chiefs

Chiefs GM John Dorsey expects RB Jamaal Charles and OLB Tamba Hali to return to practice in the coming weeks.

Tamba is making steady strides,’’ Dorsey said, via ESPN.com. “He’s begun to do the linebacker movement drills. I would foresee within the next couple of weeks him coming out and participating in practice.

“I would say within the next couple of weeks [Charles], too, will be ready to suit up in pads and position himself [to play].’’

Colts

  • Mike Chappell believes the Colts should kick the tires on DT Phil Taylor, who was released by the Broncos on Wednesday, if he’s healthy and can still play.

Packers

  • Tom Silverstein mentioned that the odds are “very good” that the Packers will re-sign LS Brett Goode before season starts after some bad snaps from Ricky Lovato and the injury to Jesse Schmitt.
