NFL Notes: Joey Bosa, Broncos, Packers & Saints

Joey Bosa

Cheryl Bosa, the mother of Chargers first-round DE Joey Bosa, mentioned that she wishes they “pulled an Eli Manning on draft day.”

“It bums me out for him so much,” she wrote on Facebook, via SDBoltReport.com. “Wish we pulled an Eli Manning on draft day.”

• Alex Marvez points out Bosa comes from a rich family, so there isn’t a lot of immediate pressure for him to give in on his contract demands.
• According to Mike Florio, the two sides haven’t spoken to one another since July 28.
• The Chargers will be able to trade Bosa as of Tuesday. However, a source tells Florio that it’s “highly unlikely” any team retained enough rookie pool space to accommodate Bosa’s contract in 2016 in a potential trade.

Broncos

• Troy Renck reports that the Broncos expect CB Aqib Talib to practice this week if he passes a physical. Renck mentioned that Talib has been running lateral sprints in recent days.
• James Palmer has confirmed that Talib will, in fact, be removed from the NFI list.

Packers

• Aaron Rodgers mentioned during an interview with ESPN that the Packers could active both WR Jordy Nelson (knee) and TE Jared Cook from the active/PUP list as soon as next week. (Tom  Silverstein)

Saints

• Nick Underhill reports that the Saints have signed LS Chris Highland.
