NFL Notes: Johnny Manziel, Bills & Broncos

Johnny Manziel

TMZ reports that a car owned by Johnny Manziel was involved in a bad accident in Dallas. However, it’s worth mentioning that police have said that they have no record of a crash involving Manziel.

Manziel’s 2015 Nissan GTR had the driver’s side completely smashed in and appeared to be t-boned. TMZ has confirmed that the car is still registered to Manziel, and happens to be the same vehicle he was driving in the domestic incident involving his former girlfriend.

Multiple sources have told TMZ that the car was at a Dallas apartment complex where Manziel is supposedly staying.

Bills

Bills owner Kim Pegula mentioned that they’re currently in “fact-finding mode” when it comes to a new stadium to house the franchise.

“We’re in the fact-finding mode,” Pegula said, via the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. “We want to make sure we have all the information that is relative to our community, to our fan base. We’re not Atlanta, so it’s hard for us to say we’re going to build a stadium like Atlanta. We can’t. It’s not just a yes or no, it’s a lot more involved than that. We don’t talk about it now because we don’t have all the answers and we don’t want to get misconstrued because things change.

Broncos

Two Broncos players have told Mike Freeman of B/R that it’s not secret Mark Sanchez will be their starting quarterback this season.

It’s no mystery to us,” said one player.

  • Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post reports that three of Pat Bowlen’s children — John Michael Bowlen, Brittany Bowlen and Jane Elizabeth “Beth” Bowlen Wallace — are no longer working for the team.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the situation invites some speculation about the future of the franchise and the possibility that it could be available at some point if one of Bowlen’s children doesn’t surface as a candidate to takeover the team.
