NFL Notes: Von Miller, Johnny Manziel, Colts, Jaguars, Packers

Von Miller

Broncos franchise OLB Von Miller made it clear that he expects an agreement to get done with the team at some point that will keep him in Denver for the foreseeable future.

“I’m going to be here in Denver no matter what,” Miller said. “The contract is going to take care of itself.”

Johnny Manziel

  • Former Browns QB Johnny Manziel turned himself in on Wednesday and posted $1,500 bond for his domestic violence case,  according to NBCDFW.com.
  • Manziel is scheduled to have his his first court hearing on Thursday.

Colts

  • Aaron Wison reports that Nebraska-Kearney DE/OLB Elhadji Ndiaye will attend the Colts’ rookie minicamp on tryout basis this weekend.

Jaguars

Jaguars GM David Caldwell told Pro Football Talk on Wednesday that there surprised to see LB Myles Jack drop as far as he did, which prompted them to begin exploring trade-up scenarios.

As we started to get to the late 20s [in round one] I was relatively surprised because we still had [Jack] in our top five players,” Caldwell said. “So we were looking at him as a possible trade back in to the first round. I didn’t really want to give up the fourth-round pick [to trade into round one] because I knew there would still be good defensive players on the board.

“After we slept on it, I reached out to a few teams picking in front of us and I just said, ‘Hey, if our guy’s there, it’ll be a fifth-round pick if guys are willing to do it,’ and Baltimore graciously was willing to do it. They did a nice job, too, because they then parlayed it into another trade-back scenario.

Packers

  • The Packers have signed two undrafted free agents on Wednesday including Dartmouth C Jacob Flores and Rice S Dennis Parks. (Pete Dougherty)
