NFL Notes: Josh Brown, Eagles, Lions & Texans

Josh Brown

The ex-wife of Giants K Josh Brown told police the day he was arrested that Brown had physically violent with her over 20 times, and starting when she was pregnant with their daughter back in 2009.

“I got really scared. And I just went and locked myself in my bedroom again,” Brown’s ex-wife told the dispatcher, via the New York Daily News. “They came last night and they said if anything else happened just to call back and I don’t want anything to get any worse.”

The report obtained by the Daily News, Brown allegedly threatened to kill his ex-wife “four or five times,” pushed her to the ground while she was pregnant, accused her of getting pregnant on purpose and being a “gold-digger,” and threatening to punch her.

Eagles

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Eagles placed a waiver claim for WR Rasheed Bailey, but lost him to the Chargers.

Lions

  • Jason Cole of B/R reports that there were a couple of scouts at the Lions vs. Bengals game last night who are hoping that Detroit will either trade or cut one of their defensive linemen in the coming weeks.

Texans

  • Jason Cole reports that free agent acquisition Brock Osweiler has picked up the Texans’ offensive quickly and believes it’s similar to what he ran under Adam Gase a few years ago with the Broncos.
  • John McClain reports that Texans second-round C Nick Martin suffered a high-ankle sprain during Thursday’s practice.
