NFL Notes: Junior Galette, Bears, Buccaneers, Redskins, & Seahawks

Junior Galette

TMZ Sports is reporting that former Saints OLB Junior Galette has been charged with three misdemeanors following a traffic stop.

Court documents reportedly show that Galette was pulled over in Louisiana on July 7 when officers noticed he was driving with a suspended license and didn’t have the proper tags on his car.

Galette is ordered to appear in court on August 10 for the misdemeanor charges.

Bears

  • Bears outside linebackers Lamar Houston and Willie Young have both been cleared for the start of training camp. (Brad Biggs)
  • Bears HC John Fox added that they have a “pretty good plan” for them moving forward. (Brad Biggs)

Buccaneers

  • Rand Getlin reports that the Buccaneers and LB Lavonte David are making progress towards a long-term extension.
  • According to Getlin, the contract situation involving the Seahawks and MLB Bobby Wagner is likely to influence the talks between the Bucs and David.

Redskins

  • Redskins HC Jay Gruden confirmed that they are currently in the process of negotiating a new contract for LT Trent Williams. (Albert Breer)

Seahawks

  • According to Rand Getlin, the Seahawks will likely only be able to address either QB Russell Wilson or MLB Bobby Wagner at this point in time based their contract demands.
  • However the Seahawks don’t sign to an extension looks like a candidate for the team’s 2016 franchise tag.
