NFL Notes: Los Angeles, London, Browns, Redskins

Los Angeles

Jason La Canfora reports that the NFL has called a special meeting for their stadium and finance committees that will be held later this month.

As of now, they are not expected to discuss the possible relocation of teams to Los Angeles, but La Canfora adds that it is possible for the topic to be discussed.

The committees consist of many of most powerful owners in the league and are integral to any move given that they account for nearly half of the league.

London

Jason La Canfora refutes a previous report that the NFL was looking to play five games at Wembley Stadium next season.

According to La Canfora, there is “no truth” to the idea and adds the league is instead looking to play consecutive weekends in London next season.

La Canfora mentions that the NFL wants to try and replicate ‎what a homestand would be like for team located in London in terms of demand for tickets and the stadium’s ability to handle the game-day experience.

The reception for last week’s 9:30 am ET kickoff was “very strong” inside the NFL offices and there is a chance that more games at this time slot could be coming.

Browns

  • TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) worked out “lightly” on the field before Sunday’s game and has been cleared to to resume some activity. (Tony Grossi)
  • Jason La Canfora reports that Cameron’s latest concussion has cast some doubt over his short- and long-term future.
  • La Canfora adds that Cameron could miss two games.
