Michael Sam

• Peter King of MMQB.com reported last night that the NFL made calls around the league regarding their potential interest in signing Rams seventh-round pick DE Michael Sam to their practice squad.

Colts

• The Colts are expected to be without C Khaled Holmes (ankle) this weekend.

Jaguars

• WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Week 1 and will likely be a game-time decision.
• RB Storm Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 1.

Ravens

• The Ravens are paying LB Josh Bynes an upgraded practice squad salary of $255,000 instead of the normal $107,100. (Aaron Wilson)

Redskins

• CB Tracy Porter and LB Akeem Jordan are listed as out for Sunday’s game. (John Keim)
