NFL Notes: Myles Jack, Giants, Lions, & Texans

Myles Jack

UCLA HC Jim Mora announced that junior LB Myles Jack has withdrawn from school and will enter the 2015 NFL Draft, per Pete Thamel.

“I think it’s very risky to do this. There’s a lot of speculation to ….where he fits,” said Mora. “I’ve been in 25 Draft rooms. I’ve never seen a guys taken off (two games of junior tape).”

“Myles talent is without question,” Mora added. “I hope he’s put enough out there where they can get a true evaluation.”

Jack’s season came to an end after he sustained a torn meniscus, but he was considered to be a consensus first-round pick.

Giants

Mike Garafolo reports that the Giants have scrubbed their locker room, meeting room and training room as a precaution following the news that TE Daniel Fells has an MRSA infection.

“We are working with infectious disease specialists, and we have defined protocols that we are following in consultation with the Duke Infection Control Outreach Network and local infectious disease specialists,”Giants’ Pat Hanlon tells Garafolo. “Those protocols are being followed carefully.”

Lions

  • Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports that X-rays came back negative on Lions TE Eric Ebron‘s left knee.
  • Ebron is still expected to have an MRI on his knee in the coming days.

Texans

  • Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that WR Cecil Shorts has a chance to play in Week 6’s game against the Jaguars, despite sustaining a dislocated shoulder on Sunday.
