NFL Notes: Pep Hamilton, Randy Moss, Giants, Raiders, Ravens

Pep Hamilton

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report writes that Colts OC Pep Hamilton will definitely be one of the most sought after head coaching options next year.

“To say the NFL has Hamilton on its radar is an understatement,” writes Freeman. “Based on what I’m hearing from a number of team officials, he is the hottest head coaching candidate in all of football.

  • Freeman adds that Broncos OC Adam Gase is likely the No. 2 coaching target.

Interestingly enough, Freeman mentions that Hamilton would be a “strong consideration” for the 49ers in the event that Jim Harbaugh isn’t back with the team next year. Another job to keep an eye on in regards to Hamilton could be the Giants, according to Freeman.

Randy Moss

Retired WR Randy Moss said he would considering coming out of retirement for an opportunity to play with Peyton Manning and the Broncos.

“I’m gonna tell you this, for me to come out of retirement for a player such as Peyton Manning, I would consider that,” Moss said, via NFL.com. “I really would consider it. I’m still in great shape, I can still run. … I’m not the most old, but just by looking at the things I see on Sundays, I can still go out there and catch some passes and catch some touchdowns.”

Giants

Raiders

Earlier in the day, reports mentions that San Antonio officials were flying to the Bay Area to discuss the possibility of the Raiders relocating from Oakland in the event their current stadium options fall through.

Raiders owner Mark Davis confirmed the visit with San Antonio officials Friday, according to Jerry McDonald.

Henry Cisneros said their job was to present San Antonio’s assets in the strongest light and they did that,” Davis said, per McDonald.

Ravens

  • Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that G Jah Reid suffered a broken hand and has been ruled out for the Week 10’s game.
  • Wilson adds that it’s unclear if the Ravens will continue to carry Reid on the 53-man roster at this point in time.
