NFL Notes: Peyton Manning, 49ers, Eagles, Packers, & Seahawks

Peyton Manning

According to Archie Manning, Peyton is currently in the process of weighing whether to comeback from another season or retire from the NFL.

Manning’s father said that Peyton and Adam Gase had a great relationship, but he doesn’t see having to work with a new coordinator as being a big issue.

“Peyton’s going to try to decide whether he wants to play or retire. If he decides to play, he’ll be fine. It’ll be another coordinator. He’ll deal with it,” Manning said, via NBC San Diego.

49ers

  • The San Francisco 49ers announced the hiring of Tom Gamble as a Senior Personnel Executive.

Eagles

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy said that he wants to keep the team together, but isn’t willing to take a pay cut to do so.

“I know how hard it is to keep a team together and I want to be part of this team. But I don’t want to take less money,” McCoy said, via Jeff McLane of Philly.com. “I want to figure a way to make it happen [where] we’re all together.

Packers

  • The Packers worked out punters Cody Mandell (signed), Brock Miller, and Kasey Redfern this week. (Rob Demovsky)

Seahawks

Joel Corry of CBS Sports offers his take on what QB Russell Wilson‘s next contract should look like.

Corry comes to the conclusion that, based on quarterback’s contracts from around the league, Wilson’s next deal should pay him $24 million per year with $65 million in guarantees and close to $73 million over the first three “new” years of the agreement.
