NFL Notes: Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, & Bills

Peyton Manning

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentioned on the Rich Eisen Show Wednesday that there was “some conversation” between the Texans and several teams that have quarterbacks.

However, Rapoport gets the impression that all of the rumors involving quarterbacks being discussed in trade scenarios likely comes down to the Texans reaching out to teams to see who is available.

It’s Rapoport’s understanding that the Broncos did not make any phone calls about trading Manning, but they probably received interest from teams looking for a quarterback.

Tom Brady

  • Mike Garafolo reports that the post-hearing briefs regarding Tom Brady‘s appeal are due next week.
  • Garafolo adds that commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to have a decision shortly after.

Bills

  • According to Vic Carucci, the Bills decision to waive DL Bryan Johnson Tuesday could be an indication that they’ll sign veteran OL Wayne Hunter to a contract at some point in the near future
