NFL Notes: RGIII, Peyton Manning, Bills, & Lions

RGIII

A Redskins’ starter tells Josina Anderson of ESPN that he could envision QB Robert Griffin III eventually playing for the Eagles.

“Philly. I think he could be really good there,” Anderson’s source said. “That is what he ran in college. That’s the type of system that I’m sure he can imagine himself in…knowing how fast-paced it is, knowing how he can run, seeing what Nick Foles did in it, what Michael Vick did in it.. I think he would definitely thrive.”

On whether Griffin’s time in Washington D.C. is nearing an end, Anderson’s source said: “I don’t know. It would be weird and I would hate to have to prepare against a guy like that. An angry Robert Griffin? I don’t know if I want to see that?

Peyton Manning

Broncos QB Peyton Manning mentioned on ESPN that he’s hoping to play another season.

“I am really enjoying myself,” Manning said, per Troy Renck. “I feel good and feel I can help and contribute.

Bills

  • Joe Buscaglia of WKBW writes that Bills sixth-round TE Nick O’Learywould likely have been released by now” if he wasn’t a draft pick.
  • According to Buscaglia, WR Deonte Thompson could force the Bills to at least consider the possibility of keeping seven receivers on their roster.
  • Buscaglia expects the Bills to keep four tight ends, which Chris Gragg could be in prime position to make the 53-man roster.
  • Buscaglia believes another solid performance from CB Mario Butler could be enough for him to secure a roster spot.
