Rule Changes

  • Another rule change up for a vote next week is to change the anti-tampering policy definition of a general manager to the team’s main football executive, even if this person doesn’t have control of the team’s 53-man roster. (Ian Rapoport)

49ers

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they’ve named former Rams executive Ran Carthon Director of Pro Personnel on Friday.

We want to welcome Ran Carthon and his family to the 49ers,” said GM John Lynch. “Ran has a clear vision for how he plans to run our pro personnel department, and was excited about the opportunity to blend his approach with ours. Having previously directed his own pro department, we expect Ran to hit the ground running and help us build the strongest roster possible.

Lions

  • Lions second-round CB Teez Tabor is still dealing with a hamstring injury but expects to be 100 percent healthy by start of training camp. (Tim Twentyman)

Patriots

Tom Brady’s agent, Don Yee, denied a claim made by his wife Gisele Bundchen that he suffered a concussion last year.

“Tom was not diagnosed with a concussion last year,” Yee said, per Adam Schefter. “Many of the protocols and safeguards still are evolving, and it’s obviously a good thing the organization and everyone close to him is vigilant and always looking out for his health.
