NFL Notes: Russell Wilson, Bills, & Cowboys

Russell Wilson

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson mentioned that he’s hoping to remain in Seattle long term, but added that he’s “moved around before.”

At the end of the day I trust the process,” Wilson said of contract negotiations with the Seahawks, via the “The Adam and Joe Show” on 99.9 The Fan. “I know God’s going to take me and put me where he wants to have me. I hope that’s Seattle. I love it there, it’s a great place. But I’ve also gone through the ups and downs and been moved around before. I loved N.C. State and loved playing there and then having to go somewhere else and start new.

“I ultimately, I know mentally and physically and spiritually I’m prepared for whatever. Every day I’m going to go to work. I’m not the kind of person that’s going to hold out or do any of that, because I want to be the best player I can be. I want to try to improve on the field.

Wilson tweets: “Change is a constant! & Success is never final! #NoTime2Sleep

Bills

  • According to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News, there is no obvious choice for the Bills’ starting quarterback job between EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel, and Tyrod Taylor.
  • Carucci mentions that Manuel is probably the “most complete talent of the bunch.” However, he appears to be capable of “making the killer mistake at the least opportune time.
  • As for Cassel, Carucci writes: “doesn’t move well, he doesn’t always throw the prettiest ball, and has easily had the worst-looking practice performances of all of the quarterbacks.”
  • Taylor, meanwhile, looks like a much better runner than a passer.
  • MarQueis Gray appears to be the early favorite for the Bills’ backup tight end job.

Cowboys

Todd Archer of ESPN takes a shot at projecting the Cowboys’ 53-man roster in his latest article.

According to Archer some of the players who may not team include: RB Ryan Williams, seventh-round TE Geoff Swaim, seventh-round OL Laurence Gibson, fifth-round pick DL Ryan Russell, and LB Keith Rivers.
