NFL Notes: Russell Wilson, Draft, Eagles, Packers, & Vikings

Russell Wilson

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that Seahawks QB Russell Wilson could elect to go year-to-year and play under the franchise tag.

Florio mentions that Wilson would make between $20 and $25 million for the 2016 season before seeing a raise of 20 percent in 2017.

Things could get tricky for the Seahawks beyond that as they would have to pay him a 40-percent raise in 2018.

Of course, the better bet is that the two sides will eventually get a long-term contract in place with Wilson at some point that will likely make him the highest paid player in the league.

Draft

  • San Jose State S Akeem King is visiting with the Seahawks and will work out for the Falcons this week, according to Tom Pelissero. King has previously visited with the Raiders.

Eagles

ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski believes the Eagles would still prefer a more mobile quarterback to run their offense.

Jaworski mentions that newly acquired QB Sam Bradford is actually more immobile than Nick Foles.

“Those people that think Sam Bradford‘s coming in as a mobile quarterback, he’s more immobile than Nick Foles,” Jaworski said during an appearance on Philly Sports Talk, via CSN Philly. “Just in the back on my mind, I still believe Chip Kelly wants a quarterback with mobility to lead his football team.”

Packers

Vikings

  • Darren Wolfson reports that Minnesota RB David Cobb visited with the Vikings this past week.
