NFL Notes: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Browns, Dolphins & Giants

Ryan Fitzpatrick

• Ed Werder reports that the Jets have had no recent talks with free agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, and the two sides remain far apart with no resolution expected soon.

Browns

• Nate Ulrich notes that TE Gary Barnidge (sports hernia), third-round OT Shon Coleman, and third-round DE Carl Nassib (calf) all passed their physicals on Tuesday and will participate during training camp.

Dolphins

• Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes that Cameron Wake, Mario Williams, Jason Jones and Andre Branch will all split time at defensive end.
• As for DE Dion Jordan, agent Doug Hendrickson told Jackson that the Dolphins have plans for his client if he’s reinstated from suspension.
• According to Jackson, the Dolphins are not opposed to keeping a fourth running back behind Arian Foster, Jay Ajayi, and third-round rookie Kenyan Drake.

Giants

• Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News expects second-round WR Sterling Shepard to be the Giants’ No. 2 receiver behind Odell Beckham, while veteran WR Victor Cruz (knee/calf) will play in the slot if he is healthy.
• However, Vacchiano writes that HC Ben McAdoo will likely rotate Beckham, Shepard and Cruz to each receiving position.
• Vacchiano would not be shocked to see third-round S Darian Thompson open training camp as the Giants’ starting safety opposite of Landon Collins.
• Vacchiano believes the Giants would be interested in trading for 49ers RT Anthony Davis if he is made available.
