NFL Notes: Teddy Bridgewater, Chiefs, Cowboys & Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater

Vikings GM Rick Spielman told Peter King of The MMQB that part of the reason for their decision to trade for QB Sam Bradford was because “no one knows how long it’s going to take [Teddy Bridgewater] to recover.”

Chiefs

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters on Monday that it would be a “stretch” for G Jamaal Charles (ACL) to play in Sunday’s opener.

“I think it’s a stretch for him to play on Sunday,” Reid said, per BJ Kissel.

Cowboys

  • Cowboys RB Darren McFadden said he can’t straighten his right arm all the way yet, and admitted it’s “up in the air” if he’ll ever be able to extend it all way again. (Brandon George)
  • Cowboys DE Charles Tapper said he suffered a back fracture, which has kept him out since early August. Tapper added that he’ll need more time before he can return from the injury. (Todd Archer)

Vikings

  • Vikigs HC Mike Zimmer would not name a Week 1 starter on Monday, and instead said that both Shaun Hill and Sam Bradford will get first-team reps in practice this week. (Matt Vensel)
