Raiders

  • Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area reports the Raiders are negotiating a short-term lease with O.co Coliseum in Oakland to stay there for the 2016 season.
  • It is worth mentioning that rumors emerged today that the Raiders are considering a possible move to Las Vegas.

Steelers

Steelers owner Art Rooney said he would like to sign RB Le’Veon Bell to a long-term extension.

We still feel like he’s going to be a great player … we hope his future is here,” Rooney said, via Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Whether we address the contract situation now or later is something we still have to evaluate. I think he’s somebody we’d like to continue to have on the team for the long run.”

In addition, Rooney went on to say that there are no plans to find a quarterback to groom and replace Ben Roethlisberger in the future.

I don’t think we’re starting down that road of who’s next after Ben. Obviously we’ve got some work to do in terms of who are the backups,” said Rooney. “We’ll have some evaluation to do there. As far as I’m concerned, Ben didn’t show much sign of falling off this year, so I’m looking forward to at least several more years of Ben as our quarterback.”
