NFL Notes: Tom Brady, LeSean McCoy, Chargers, & Dolphins

Tom Brady

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Patriots QB Tom Brady is “open to accepting some form of suspension.”

However, Brady would only do so if it stems from failing to cooperate with the NFL rather than admitting to the Wells’ Report findings, according to Schefter’s source.

The NFL remains adamant that Brady admits to the report’s findings, but Brady has, of course, refused to do so.

Because of this, settlement discussions have gone “nowhere” and the two sides are back in court on Wednesday.

LeSean McCoy

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Bills RB LeSean McCoy is expected to be ready for Week 1’s game, despite suffering a hamstring injury on Tuesday.

  • Last night, Josina Anderson spoke to a Bills’ source who said of McCoy‘s hamstring injury: “He’s in route to Buffalo. Hope it’s just a strain, but it didn’t look good on the field.”
  • A separate source added that McCoy’s hamstring felt “tight” and is already feeling better to some degree. However, the source emphasized that he’s not a doctor, according to Anderson.

Chargers

Chargers first-round RB Melvin Gordon indicated that he has been pressing too much to try to be great right away.

“It’s just being decisive with my runs,” Gordon said, via the Union-Tribune San Diego. “Just being sharp and clean. … You’ve got to calm down and keep telling yourself, ‘It’ll come to you.’ I think that’s what a lot of players and probably a lot of rookies have to learn. You want to be great so fast. Sometimes, it just doesn’t happen that way. It’s a process. It can be tough, but that’s why you’ve got teammates and coaches that have seen it, that have been around it to help coach you through it.

Dolphins

  • Dolphins activated WR DeVante Parker (foot) from active/PUP list on Wednesday.
