Tom Brady

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the NFL has a “real chance” to win their appeal case regarding Tom Brady‘s suspension, even after Judge Berman nullified his ban earlier Thursday.

However, Florio admits that this will come down to which judges are selected to hear the appeal.

The NFL will need convince two of the three judges assigned to the case, but it sounds like this process could still take some time before there’s a true conclusion in the matter.

Of course, there’s a possibility that the losing party could try to get the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case at a later point, which means this could go one for years.

Peyton Manning

During an interview on the “Dan Patrick Show“, Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he would consider coaching quarterbacks for his alma mater — the University of Tennessee — if they were interested.

“Quarterbacks coach, I would do at Tennessee. Head coach? Absolutely not,” Manning said, via The Sporting News. “People in Tennessee like me right now, Dan — I don’t know why. But you become the head coach and cut that in half right away. ‘Why are you throwing it on 4th and 1? Why did you punt there; you should go for it.’ Cut it in half — it’s like being in politics…

“Quarterbacks coach, you probably could stay under the radar. You get your quarterbacks throwing a lot of completions, you probably could stay in good favor. Maybe if they call, that’d be something.“

Browns

Broadcast announcer Solomon Wilcots mentioned during a radio interview that after speaking with coaches on the Browns, veteran WR Dwayne Bowe needs to deliver tonight in order to make the 53-man roster.

“He needs to deliver (tonight),” Wilcots said, per Anthony Lima. “After talking to the coaches he needs to show up tonight to be a part of the 53-man roster (this weekend).”

Dolphins

• Dolphins first-round WR DeVante Parker will appear in tonight’s preseason finale, according to Armando Salguero.

Packers

• Despite some recent talk that the Packers could have interest in bringing back veteran WR Jarrett Boykin after he was cut by the Panthers this week, Rob Demovsky reports that Green Bay has no interest in doing at this point in time.
