NFL Notes: Tony Dungy, Dolphins, Jets & Ravens

Tony Dungy

Former Buccaneers and Colts HC Tony Dungy tells Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that he has no intention of returning to the NFL as a head coach again.

“I am done with that for sure,” Dungy said.

According to Florio, there has been some “fairly strong chatter” in league circles that the Jaguars could make a push to hire Dungy.

Dolphins

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is now “day-to-day” as opposed to “week-to-week“, despite sustaining MCL and ACL sprains a few weeks ago.
  • According to Florio, there’s still some question as to whether the Dolphins are really comfortable allowing Tannehill to play on a partially torn ACL, considering that the ligament won’t heal on its own, so he’s more susceptible to further damage.

Jets

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Jets HC Todd Bowles will be visiting with a doctor today after he was hospitalized a few days ago. Bowles was able to rejoin the team in New England for Saturday’s game.
  • According to Rich Cimini, Bowles was hospitalized with what he called kidney and gallbladder issues.

Ravens

Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs told reporters after Sunday’s game that he return and play next season.

“I don’t know what you heard. … I was always planning to come back and doing this another year,” Suggs said, via the Baltimore Sun.
