NFL Notes: Trade Ideas & Candidates, Bears, Lions

Trade Ideas

Joel Corry of CBS Sports offers some trades that teams should consider if they took move of a MLB/NBA approach towards the trade deadline.

  • Lions trade WR Calvin Johnson to the Panthers for a conditional 2016 second-round pick.
  • Ravens trade G Kelechi Osemele to the Seahawks for a 2016 fourth-round pick.
  • Bears trade RB Matt Forte to the Broncos for RB C.J. Anderson and a 2016 fifth-round pick.
  • Browns trade C Alex Mack to the Colts for a 2016 fourth-round pick.
  • Chiefs trade DE/OLB Tamba Hali to the Giants for a 2016 sixth-round pick.
  • Chiefs trade CB Sean Smith and a 2016 seventh-round pick to the Patriots for a 2016 fourth-round pick.
  • Patriots trade ILB Jerod Mayo to the Packers for a conditional 2016 seventh-round pick.

Corry provides a detailed breakdown for all the proposed deals that are worth reading, so I recommend heading over to CBS Sports.

Trade Candidates

Bears

  • Adam Caplan reports that Bears ILB Shea McClellin (knee-doubtful) has an MCL sprain in area of grade-2, which explains why he hasn’t practiced.

Lions

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the Lions could consider moving on from GM Martin Mayhew and/or HC Jim Caldwell following today’s game.

  • Jason La Canfora believes the Lions should consider trading veteran DT Haloti Ngata if they can find anyone willing to take his salary of their hands.
