NFL Notes: Von Miller, Browns & Buccaneers

Von Miller

Mike Klis of 9 News reports that Von Miller has spoken directly to Broncos GM John Elway three times in recent weeks. However, the two sides haven’t discussed contract figures since June 7.

Klis confirms that Denver is hopeful a deal can be reached before the July 15th deadline. Sources have told Klis that the Broncos would not entertain the possibility of rescinding their franchise tag or making Miller available for trade.

Buccaneers

Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports that while Buccaneers rookie OL Dominique Robertson was described as a “victim” and a “bystander” after being shot last week in California, he was on probation for an incident that occurred during college.

According to Auman, Robertson was on two years’ probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor obstruction of an officer and misdemeanor simple assault back January 2015 of an incident at West Georgia.

Robertson was initially charged with a felony count of obstruction and misdemeanor counts of assault and battery. The police report says that Robertson threatened one officer, and then ran from the scene.

Later, Robertson shoved an officer, who was trying to enter his apartment, against the wall with his back and the officer suffered a torn leg tendon and had to be hospitalized.
