NFL Notes: Von Miller, Cardinals, Colts & Frank Gore

Von Miller

  • Mike Klis reports that there’s no agreement as of now between the Broncos and franchise OLB Von Miller.
  • Although, Klis adds that the two sides are hammering out the contract language of the contract and still have time on their side.

Cardinals

  • Mike Jurecki mentions that if the Chiefs and S Eric Berry are able to come to an agreement that will make him the highest paid safety in the league, it could be the comparable deal for future negotiations between the Cardinals and DB Tyrann Mathieu.
  • However, if the two sides can’t reach an agreement, Jurecki expects Vikings S Harrison Smith‘s five-year, $51 million contract with $28 million guaranteed to Mathieu’s target instead.

Colts

Colts veteran RB Frank Gore tells Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star that he’s motivated to prove doubters wrong about his age and production.

Believe me, I listen,” Gore said. “When I hear it, that’s when I attack my training. When I’m tired, I tell myself what the people are saying about me. In that second workout (of the day) when I’m saying, ‘Man, I don’t want to do this.’ I remind myself, ‘They’re saying you’re old. They’re saying you’re 33. They’re saying you can’t do it this year.’ I play games with myself off that stuff.
