NFL Notes: Von Miller, Russell Wilson & Demaryius Thomas

Von Miller

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson said on Wednesday that he was not worried about the uncertainty regarding contract negotiations with the Seahawks at this point in time.

I love Seattle, it’s a great city,” said Wilson, via Coley Harvey of ESPN. “I’m going to play my butt off every day. That’s all I know, and we’ll see what happens.”

HC Pete Carroll said on Tuesday that contract discussions remain “underway.” However, there is still “a lot” of progress that is needed for the two sides to agree on a deal.

Well, he’s crucial, as are all of our guys, and we want him back playing for us forever. There’s a lot of work being done. It’s underway right now and maybe it happens, I don’t know. We’re hoping for it,” said Carroll, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

Demaryius Thomas

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Demaryius Thomas‘ new contract contains no offset language regarding his guaranteed money.

Thomas is set to earn $35 million fully guaranteed over the next two years. This season he will earn$22 million, while the other $13 million in 2016. Thomas will have another $8.5 million become fully guaranteed at the start of the waiver period in February 2017. At this point in time, the money is guaranteed for injury only.

  1. oh good. they have thomas locked up and will have to do the same with von ped miller. so in summary they will have two really expensive players hogging most of their money with no quarterback. sounds like a recipe for 3rd place in the division to me.
