After working out for the Giants on Tuesday, HC Tom Coughlin told reporters there’s “always a chance” they could sign veteran WR Wes Welker to a contract “if the need comes around,” per Ralph Vacchiano.

Coughlin said Welker looked “very quick, very active” and healthy during his workout, per Vacchiano.

Chargers

Colts

Colts QB Andrew Luck put in a limited practice for the second straight day Thursday, according to Mike Wells of ESPN.com.

Backups Matt Hasselbeck and Alex Tanney handled the throwing portion of practice the media was able to see, while Luck is nursing a right shoulder injury.

 

On Wednesday, Colts HC Chuck Pagano said that he has “supreme confidence” Luck will play against Jacksonville on Sunday.

Cowboys

Giants

  • Giants HC Tom Coughlin announced Thursday that WR Victor Cruz will not play in Week 4’s game after he suffered a setback with his calf injury.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that there isn’t a timetable for Cruz to return at this point in time.
