NFL Rumors: 49ers, Bills, Browns, Jets


  • According to Steve Wyche, the 49ers are interested in UNC QB Mitch Trubisky but are still considering trade possibilities right now for the No. 2 pick.
  • Wyche says that it’s possible taking Trubisky at No. 2 could be too high for their likely, even though they would like to find a franchise quarterback.
  • We have LSU S Jamal Adams being selected by the 49ers in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.


  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that Bills scouts are bracing to be fired after the draft.
  • A scout tells Florio: “We are all getting fired next week.”
  • The Bills responded by issuing a statement to PFT regarding the report: “Right now, our focus is on the preparation for this week’s draft. Like every year, evaluations of our player personnel staff take place following the draft. And this year will be no different.
  • We have Clemson WR Mike Williams being selected by the Bills in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.


  • Mike Silver reports that the number of teams the Browns have spoken to in the top 8 picks regarding potential trades is now up to five.
  • According to Silver, Browns GM Sashi Brown says he’s known for two weeks who he wants to take with the No. 1 overall pick.
  • We have Myles Garrett and Mitch Trubisky being selected by the Browns in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.


  • Rich Cimini is hearing that Ohio State S Malik Hooker is “very much in play” for the Jets at No. 6 overall.
  • According to Cimini, the Jets also like LSU S Jamal Adams, but he there’s no guarantee he will be available to them at that point.
  • Cimini points out that the Jets’ interest in safety prospects may explain why they’ve been non-committal regarding whether they will pick up S Calvin Pryor’s fifth-year option for S Calvin Pryor before next Wednesday’s deadline.
  • We have Alabama TE O.J. Howard being selected by the Jets in the First Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.
