49ers

  • 49ers HC Chip Kelly said of QB Colin Kaepernick: “It’s not like his skill set diminished… He didn’t fall off, he got hurt. Let’s get him healthy.” (Ian Rapoport)
  • Kelly reiterated that they aren’t considering releasing Kaepernick: “Not even being discussed. You don’t cut talent.” (Eliot Shorr-Parks)
  • When asked if Kaepernick expressed to him whether he wants to play for the 49ers or be traded, Kelly said: “We haven’t talked about it.” …Says agent/GM handling that.” (Jeff Darlington)

Buccaneers

  • Buccaneers HC Dirk Koetter said that recently signed P Brian Anger will compete with for Jacob Schum for the job. (Rick Stroud)
  • Koetter mentioned he has yet to speak to free agent WR Roddy White. (Vaughn McClure)
  • Regarding the possibility of trading backup QB Mike Glennon, Koetter said he’s scared about moving him because he’s “on record saying he’s a starter in this league.” (Rick Stroud)
  • Koetter said that while they don’t have a fullback on the roster right now, they are in the process of finding one. (Rick Stroud)
  • Koetter said their top priority was to get RB Doug Martin back and he believes Martin and Charles Sims will be a good “1-2 punch.” (Rick Stroud)
  • Koetter feels good about his receiving corps and is not of the belief veteran WR Vincent Jackson “is anywhere close to being done.” (Rick Stroud)

Cardinals

  • Cardinals HC Bruce Arians said he’s concerned about Chandler Jones being a free agent next year: “When he hits free agency, we’ll have the dollars to make sure he stays.” (Jeff Howe)
  • Arians said he was impressed with Cal QB Jared Goff’s pro day, and liked how he reacted to the Browns pouring water on ball: “Some guys would balk.” (Nate Ulrich)
  • According to Arians, the Patriots were the ones who initiated trade discussions involving Jones. Arians said he was “shocked” to hear that Jones was available. (Jeff Howe)
  • Arians says he was “shocked” that both RB Chris Johnson and TE Jermaine Gresham took less money to return to Arizona: “I’d never seen it.” (Peter Schrager)

Cowboys

  • Cowboys HC Jason Garrett said of free agent DE Greg Hardy returning: “He’s a free agent. We are looking at other guys.” (Clarence Hill)
  • Garrett acknowledged that CB Patrick Robinson, who was close to a deal with the Cowboys, is visiting other teams. (Clarence Hill)
  • Garrett told reporters that they will work out Memphis QB Paxton Lynch Wednesday in Orlando after leaving the owners meetings. (Todd Archer)
  • Beyond that, Garrett said they will then travel to Ohio State to work out prospects on Friday. (Todd Archer)
