NFL Rumors: Broncos Drafting Another QB?

The new regime in Denver has already begun the rebuilding process but from the comments that Broncos president John Elway made yesterday, this may include drafting their second first-round quarterback in as many years.

Elway has shown interest in this years group of quarterbacks because of their mobility and overall talent.

“I think sometimes your eyes migrate to the style you played,” Elway said on Monday, per Mike Klis of the Denver Post. “You don’t have to be that way.  You look at Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, the success they’ve had.  But I think it’s getting harder and harder to play that position and not have mobility.”

Elway was also about finding a “franchise quarterback of the future.”

“We’re always looking for that guy,” Elway said. “We may already have the guy who can pull the trigger and win us a championship someday. We may have him. We don’t know. We believe in Tim but he’s not there yet.”

If Elway is seriously interested in drafting a quarterback, he’ll have a shot at one of the top-two considering that the Broncos have the No. 2 overall pick. Giving up on player like Tim Tebow without giving him fair shot is a risky move that could cause a negative reaction from the teams fans. They can say that he’s not ready all they want but at some point they’ll have to give him a shot or trade him.
